Undergraduate and master’s students. Current Johns Hopkins students: email the S4E team (s4e-admissions AT jhu.edu) with your CV, an unofficial transcript, a short paragraph on which research direction interests you, and when you would like to start. Positions are for research credit or a thesis project, not for pay. Summer positions for external undergraduates are posted below when a program is open.
High school students. The group hosts high school researchers only through established programs, which handle eligibility, supervision, and the university's visiting-student requirements: the Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation Research Program (questions to eiresearch AT jhu.edu) and the Ingenuity Project Research Practicum at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (questions to Mr. Ian Nelson, inelson AT ingenuityproject.org). We cannot take individual requests outside these programs. Please apply to the program directly rather than writing to the group.
The Johns Hopkins University is committed to equal opportunity for its faculty, staff, and students. To that end, the university does not discriminate on the basis of sex, gender, marital status, pregnancy, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status or other legally protected characteristic. The university is committed to providing qualified individuals access to all academic and employment programs, benefits and activities on the basis of demonstrated ability, performance and merit without regard to personal factors that are irrelevant to the program involved.
